ISLAMABAD: The Ministry for Petroleum – in its new plan for gas load management – has announced a seven-hour-long load-shedding schedule for Islamabad and Punjab.
To be effective in winters due to extreme shortage of gas, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the domestic gas consumers in Punjab would face at least a seven-hour load shedding in the upcoming winter season.
“As a result of a huge demand and supply cavity, the domestic consumers in Punjab will face gas suspension from 10pm to 5am,” the minister said.
The minister further said the country faced a shortfall of about 40% of gas – which it cannot cover given the present circumstances.
